After relocating to Texas in 1998, Ms. Karl joined the former Burns & Noble team specifically to oversee the accounting for all third-party managed properties as well as to provide office management and HR services. Having majored in accounting at the University of Pittsburgh, Vicki’s experience in commercial property management began in the accounting department of George D. Zamias, Developer, a Johnstown, Pennsylvania based company specializing in the development and operation of shopping centers and malls. After nine years with Zamias Developers, Vicki relocated to Baltimore, Maryland and was employed for eight years as Controller for Erwin L. Greenberg Commercial Corporation, also a shopping center developer. There, along with the oversight of the property management accounting department and office management, she was responsible for the financial forecasting of prospective acquisitions and development projects and sat on the Planning Board.
In 2008, when, after a four year merger with Colliers International, Burns & Noble evolved to become Burns Commercial Properties LLC, Vicki’s planning and direction provided a smooth transition back to an independent entity status. Additionally, her thirty plus years of commercial property management experience has helped Burns Commercial Properties to reach and maintain high standards in the areas of strong client relations, accounting and reporting and in building a strong support team to serve our clients’ needs. Ms. Karl currently supervises a staff of 5, serving 21 owner clients and approximately 540 tenants.
